Finally... Sum replies
Anyway I read the link you gave so am I right to reach the conclusion that existing EAs like FapTurbo would not work in ECN environments? (No Instant Execution but Market Execution)
Thank you

FAPTurbo will work in an ECN environment. I am currently trading it on an account like this, which has market execution and variable spreads. It works fine on ECN accounts.

JillyB is right, fapturbo and autopilot will work in an ECN environment. Pay close attention to how fapturbo for example opens positions and you will notice that it first opens them with no stop loss and no take profit and immediately thereafter sets the variables.

For clarification, if this is possible - and if JillyB already has it working.....why is anybody still using a regular broker?? Rather than waiting on MBTrading to offer the MT4 connection, how would you go about using it through an ECN now?

If I'm not mistaken JillyB has her account with ATC Brokers but they're not offering live accounts as of yet. So in answer to your question the reason most people are using regular brokers is because the pure ECN MT4 brokers are ready to go live yet.

You can however use special bridge software to route trades from your MT4 platform (typically with another broker) to your ECN broker's servers. Lookup a company called TradeBullet or google "MT4 ECN bridge" or something of that sort.

Just to let you know that I am live with ATC: they are pretty awesome so far, but the spreads are not *that* great (although EURUSD during London session is very close to zero) HOWEVER the biggest news is that Knight Capital (owners of Hotspot) are pulling out of retail forex so ATC have had to find a new partner.

They are however promising much lower spreads and continued amazingly in depth customer service (they are fanatics actually). They claim to be the ONLY brokerage to succesfully integrate MT4 with ECN. Most others (i.e. Fastbrokers) use a bridge which is less that robust, apparently.

I also have Fapturbo and only use the scalper in live, and only on EURGBP and GBPCHF. I have noticed a slight deterioration in performance since end of Jan, anyone else getting that?

Lastly, I was lucky enough to get in on the charter group for one of the only 200 copies of E75 system from James De Wet. So far I am pretty blown away with it and he has released 100 further copies that can only be obtained through charter group members. If anyone is interested in the link to the sales page PM me (I do not intend to spam or advertise openly in this forum, just thought there may be some people here who might appreciate the chance to get it). If you know of the G7 system that is a pretty solid performer as well....

I'm confused. I've not received any confirmation that ATC are live yet with their MT4 ECN. I did receive the email about the change of partner to FXCM. Seems strange that they've gone live without notifying anybody.

I have seen that they've changed the minimum deposit from 2k to 5k tho...

Dang, that's news to me. Sucks to hear that they're quitting the retail forex biz - wonder why.

However if their new partner is FXCM they can no longer claim to offer an ECN backed service - FXMC at best uses a SPT (straight pass through) trade clearing mechanism (and dealing desk for their MT4 platform).

I'm waiting for MB Trading to get their MT4 platform right - right now it's quite buggy (like for example I've had a trade opened by forex autopilot that for some reason can't be closed - constant off-quotes errors). Once they have it up and running I guess the only true ECN + MT4 platform will be theirs.

To all of ATC's valued customers:

Knight Capital Group, (conglomerate owner of HotSpot FX), announced Hotspot FX retail operations will move to FXCM by February 13, providing final regulatory approvals.

This will have some temporary impact on the growth scheduled in the immediate, but should also benefit in accelerating our entry of new traders as we cross over the middle part of February and its closing weeks. ATC had gone to encouraging lengths to evaluate the FXCM ECN API connection and FXCM's commitment to operations reliability. We understand the concerns of traders in relation to FXCM and its past place in the industry; however ATC will only connect to true ECN model and nothing less. FXCM, assures us to this and ATC will be including other connection and liquidity options in coming months, so we need not pose traders without having future options..

We have looked at FXCM Live ECN pricing and it is a considerable improvement over that which we have seen at HotSpot FXr, and the MT4 options and supports for ECN operations at FXCM are improved as well. We are moving on an accelerated pace to bring up operations in the coming 2-3 week period and resume client participation from there.

-Leverage: 100:1
-Minimum to open $5,000
-Min Lot size: 10K

Our first goal is to assure traders the ATC MT4 will continue in it's deployment and in the most raw sense, a change in the underlying provider base will take place, we are committed must bring improvement and further our options over time.

ATC is beginning sampling market data and preparing to test real execution to confirm spreads, fills and other functionality at FXCM. We are seeking confirmation that the same ECN execution quality, anonymity and volume/fill potentials would remain comparable. We are encouraged that spreads would be improved and remain a reliable offering of deep liquidity, no dealing desk and without concern of the provider taking the other side.

The decisions ATC makes will continue to advocate on behalf of the trader, that cost alone will not dictate ATC's decisions, where quality and support must not be sacrificed. Even that our traders "could" experience some downtime, depending on decisions traders will make, ATC will continue moving in directions that increase trader options and make the best use of our system design flexibility.

We will continue to inform traders of progress and normal lines of communication with ATC, will remain open throughout.

Sincerely,

ATC Brokers

Oh wow..interesting account...precisely why I never fully trust any automated trading system - eventually for some reason or other they all stop working or a "black swan" shows up in the market and completely renders the system's strategy useless and causes it to go bust.

Conclusion is that there is still no substitute for good old fashion HUMAN brains.

Has anyone any experiences with this broker:

http://www.nordmarkets.com

I found them in this list:

http://www.100forexbrokers.com/mt4forexbrokers

Their entrance is more in the bottom of the list. And there it's said, the minimum is 1000$. I applied for a demo-account. But I am still waiting for my login and password. I hope to get it soon.

I reckon they can be trusted cause they're backed by one of Sweden's biggest banks and the second largest law firm. Other than that I don't know. Please let us know how you get on.
