Old vs. new FAP

I have a beef with the makers of this EA.

At first they put out an EA that the majority of the time went long.

Now the new EA goes short most of the time.

Why cant they make the EA do both!?

If it's main indicator is the alligator surely it could pick longs and shorts equally well.

I watch this thing pick three shorts on a down trend and take profit on them all but then watch it go up and not make one single trade.

It seems to me that all they did was reverse the parameters when they did the up grade.

How about a REAL Upgrade marcus?

It does both. It's just that now it has a moving average filter (100 MA) The euro has not breached beyond this long term moving average. Technically if it does FAP should start opening the majority of its position in the long direction. The alligator indicator is used as a short term entry system and the 100 MA is used as a long term trend filter.

Have a look at that. But as you say yes the majority of its trades are for now short.

Hi, all. I have just registered and read your post. I think this makes sense why faps is now opening short only (almost).

Hopefully, all of you are and will be in profit with the new faps.

That is the general idea. If not Marcus is going to get his but kicked by my heavy boot ;) lol

You know guys you can change the MA period. Do some backtesting and see what works best. If you set the MA lower it will be more sensitive to trend changes. This could be both beneficial or detrimental. I've yet to play around much with that setting though but eventually I will tinker with it - I love to tinker btw :)
