Anyone have any idea what the hell this is all about? It seems like every time I get this message 2009.02.17 15:36:30 ForexAutoPilot EURUSD,M5: Alligator Jaw error = 4066; desc = requested history data in update state
the robot will not trade. What can I do to fix it, and why does it happen?
Help Please

Have you closed and restarted FAPS? If I remember right I think that means there is a bad price feed coming from your broker. Are you using IBFX?

I had the same problem but better results. I didnt close and restart FAPS, I just relogged into my MetaTrader and I am using the Alpari UK trader. I soon as I relogged in it started a trade.

I had this issue when I had downloaded data for a currency pair, but had the chart in the wrong timeframe. I presume that since you are in the backtesting area, that is what might be the cause. Check your settings and make sure you are set to the right timeframe on the chart you are trying to backtest.

Try moving your chart to M1 and let it load up. Then click back on M5 and let it load up and that hopefully should help. That's what I did and it worked just fine after that.

The error message claims that the history is in update state. Have you tried completing the update process? Apparently there is a glich in your data, or perhaps an incomplete update, thats causing an Alligator Jaw error.
I've found that when I try to test EA's during the trading week I often create problems. If I try to update data during the week it often wipes out portions of the chart data, and it doesnt come back untill the market closes on the weekend.
I dont know if these problems are universal, or are broker or computer related, but it seems to happen fairly often when I do mid week testing.

Hi Dustin,
I have the same problem from time to tme (Alpari UK); what helps me is: click in the FAPS Chart, hit F7 for EA properties, donīt change anything just leave with OK, then the robot restarts without the error.
