Hello all, my name is Dennis and I am a new member in every sense of the word as I know nothing about Forex Trading but I am fascinated by FAP Turbo as I am considering buying it. I just want to know if that fact that I do not know anything about Forex be a hindrance and will someone be kind enough to let me know the basics that I need to know or will that be unnecessary if I do purchase the software?
Thanks in advance

Hi Dennis,
I am also new to the world of FOREX so know very little myself. What I would say is that I beieve it would be unwise to get involved without reading and learning as much as you can. For instance, choosing a broker would be difficult without understanding spreads and what it means.
I was pointed to www.babypips.com and this is a great resource for learning.
I'm sure more knowledgable members than I would agree and will reply in due time.
Best of luck with your trading, should you decide to go ahead.

Hi Dennis, I read the blurb, watched the videos and nearly ate the pie, i did however buy the software and have to say am not very impressed with it, the support from the site is terrible. They think help is to copy paste the user manual - having read it and not solved the problem was why i went to the their site for support.
Also once the problem was rectified - and I dont know exactly how - I will say this though it happened after posting for help here - and my heartiest thanks to those who helped me with their posts here - it did start to trade, a whopping $177 in 24 days - yawn if i was hoping it might pay for itself I hope I am not too wrinkled and old to enjoy it.
I found a great little EA through the mailbox from the trading houses which i set running on an Alpari demo account on the 20th Feb 2009 - yes a friday and I know everyone says dont trade on a Friday it is too unpredictable - but hey it is an EA and what harm could it do on a demo account. Anway this little program has managed to trade $2125.45 profit at the time of seeing your post and the best part is on 0.1 lots. And the real kicker here is it is totally FREE --- yes I will say it again FREE.
I did come in here to see if someone is using Alpari and how well is their version of FAP going on it. I have to say mine has not been worth the money, the big returns they boast about - check the lot sizes. For safe and reliable EA I think I shall continue to use the little gem I found. I have not posted its name here because I am not sure if you can - this is a FAP forum after all - lol - My advice shop around before springing for FAP.
Happy trading
Steve

Nothing wrong with posting the name....many others have done the same on this and similar threads.
I've also got some free EA's and they are worth just what they cost - nothing. I'd be interested to see what you got for free and view your results with it.

Thanks Steve but I have to tell you that I was not kidding when I said I am a complete novice when it comes to trading as I do not even know what you mean by EA.

Hi Dennis, EA means Expert Advisor and FAP falls into that description, dont get me wrong I am not completely knocking it, just it has done no where near any of the things claimed. Today it is showing 271 euro profit (that is since 13th feb 2009), not a very good performance when you base it on the claims from the manufacturer of it. I too am in the same boat as you and new to trading. I did however some ready and have been trying different Expert Advisor (EA) and as I said the best one so far is one I got from a web link in the trader program. It is called Ilan 1.4. I set up a demo account with Alpari on the 20th Feb 2009 and to date it is showing a healthy 2757.76 dollars profit. I have it attached to the EURUSD H1 (one hour) chart and it just chugs away happily. Even the last 2 weeks where there has been some big shifts in the dollar.
I did try it on the EURGBP H1 but that was not successful, so even allowing for me upsetting it by changing charts it still shows a very nice average of about 136 dollars a day. I have decided to leave it for another week and then put it on a real money account and see if it can do as well in real.
I do have it on 2 live accounts with OLD but it has not been very good the last 2 weeks there, it opened some sell trades at quite low values and the dollar has gone away from it, I am waiting for the dollar to come back and it should close profitiable. Just a pain having to wait it out. I have noticed that when I interfer it always comes back and will close the trades it opened. Hence that is why I have not closed them and will wait it out.
No doubt some one with much more experience will have something to say, and I welcome it, any advice gratefully accepted, as stated I am new here too. All I am saying is what I have seen and experienced in my short time of trading and trying different things.
Best thing I can say is try out several EAs for yourself and get a bit of an idea of what they should do, before spending money on them (I bought FAP and so far it would not have even paid for itself and I had to come here to get it working).
One another note if anyone knows how to get FAP working better I would appreciate the tips. But as it stands it is not worth the money.
Regards
Steve
