these are my currunt settings.
lots=0.1
llr=4.0000
max orders=4
max lots=100
stop time 5
take profit=20.0000
stop loss=0.0000
trailing stop= 0.0000
ma control= 1
span gator 0.5
slipage 3 safty gap 0.0000.
i would like to open a live account with a small deposit would these settings be ok? ie id rather have small profits coming in with not alot of risk just to see how the live account works without loosing my initial deposit! i am a newbie so really would appericate your expert knowlege! also i am going to be using alpari am i right in thinking that they use 5 quote prices? so would my take profit have to be 200.0 and slipage 30?

IMHO if you're going to have a smaller starting balance and want to keep the risk at a minimum I would move my lot size to .01 or try a smaller LRR like 1 or 2. That way your account won't suffer that much on a draw down. Also maybe try a smaller max trades like 1 or 2 to keep the rick down and I would highly recommend using a stop loss. I use Alpari as well and they are a 4 digit broker. I also changed my slippage to 5 because Alpari can be slow to open and close trades. I can help out a bit when the market is moving super fast.

this is what i thought and have been told they are a 4 digit broker?
if they are a 5 digit broker do i have to change the take profit to 200.0 and the slipage to 30?

Alpari UK is a 5 digit broker while Aplari US uses 4 digits in thier trading system. But you have the option with Alpari US to switch to the 5 digit trading system if you want.
And yes Bob you need to adjust those settings for trading with the 5th decimal.

thanks for your help! i dont get tho it says in the manual you get with forex autopilot that you should use take profit 200.0 and slipage 30 ! when i try and do this i get a error saying take profit value is not set due to server connection error. please modify the order manuly! and as you say alpari uk is a 5 diget broker! when it is set at 20.0 and slipage 3 it works just fine (weird)
