Short & Long

Hey I was wondering if anyone has tried selecting short only, instead of short & long.?

I start trading real money on monday and I'm nervous about the setting. I've done alot of reading and most say that the demo account is nothing like the real account. things don't move as smooth.

I've opened a 1000 dollar mini acount set at .10 of a lot.

I'm looking to avoid drawdowns..LOL but I told myself to stay strong I'm not going to look at the total money until the end of the month, nor will I manually stop anything. I'll just ride it out win loose or draw.

but get back to mt on the short and long thing if anyone knows..

Not sure about trading in one direction, the market has been swinging so much in both directions.

Others are having success just trading the Euro/UK session. You have to enter the times for the bot to trade in the "unputs". You have to ck with your broker for their times, they're all different. I'm using the MarketWatch time on my platform to set the #.

When we had the downtrend I few months back I set the old EA to sell only and it performed well.

This new EA is differnet though. It seems to have a sell bias where as the old EA hads a buy bias.

Like lori says the market right now is still into consolidation. The US economy is headed for trouble so I see a ride up until the short sell ban is lifted on the stocks. right now I would just leave it alone. The eur/usd is trading aropund 1.4600 right now as resistance. it hasn't been that high in a while.

As for your lot size I wouldn't trade that much. I would be trading .01 lots or a dime a pip. If I was trading .1 lots I would have a 100USD DD right now. Too big for my mini account.

Don't get greedy or you will regret it.

The current mid term trend on the hourly chart shows an uptrend since 9/11/2008. That is higher highs and higher lows. It seems to peak at round numbers on the up so I suspect the next few days to be down. Today is 9/22

Just my half assed seat of the pants analysis. take it or leave it.

So much for my predictions. the eur/usd jumped another 200 pips.

today and over night a killer all gains from yesterday gone...WOW

this thing makes 50% bad trades.....I have 4 trades open right now with 250 pip drawdown...faps is for the shits..LOL

HI Earl I tried on short only when the market clearly turned downwards with the EURUSD last week and the EA kept picking up long signals, that's when i set it for short only and I made a couple of good trades before I put it back to default setting.
So i think it could work fine

That`s back when I just started...I was using the default settings

my lot was way to big...like you suggested....see man you helped and I listened....LOL
