Here is a free EA for you guys to play with. Included in the rar file are 3 versionf of the EA. One of them I've modified to work along other EAs (ie it has a magic number) - Gods Gift v7.1c2 is the one. Also there is an extensive backest on the GBP/USD pair. Btw, this is a very conservative EA as you can see the max drawdown is very low.

Happy testing!

how did you open it?

It's a rar file, hence you need winrar, or I think winzip supports it as well. Ok guys I'm going to attach a zip version as I can see rar is no longer a popular compressed file format.

I'm sure you'll have no trouble opening this one up as windows can read zip files.

Thank you Alan,

Are there any specific currencies or time frames to trade this with?

Are the rest all indicators that the EA needs to be added in order to trade?

When you say it is conservative, besides the dd, does it mean it is slow to trade?

Angie

It works best with GBP/USD. I also tested it on EUR/USD as well and found it to be perform almost the same as on gbp/usd.

Yes, all the indicators you need are included. Place the EA (titled gods_gift_v7c2) in your expert advisors folder and the rest of the files in the indicators folder.

Yes, it is slow to trade. It does not open a lot of trades. A quick backtest will show you what I mean.

Hey Alan,
If you still have the (.ex4) file for this EA could you attach it. It showed errors when I tried to compile it. I would be interested in testing this one.

All of the other files were fine. Just the EA itself had the problem.

Thanks,
Bryan

huh, valid key?? are you sure? it should not ask you for any such thing..I think you are confusing this with FAPS...FAP asks for a "key"

Alan,

No I did not. I just made a small modification to it. I've stopped using this EA a long time ago, so I'm curious has anyone out there been using it with success?

Ok. But are you any good in MQL4 programming... enough to make a simple EA ? You see I have some ideas...

Nope sorry. I am no coder. The modification I made was so rudimentary that it's laughable. I just copied and pasted a section from another EA that performed the function that I wanted.

I think that we have two coders somewhere on this forum. One that quickly comes to mind is this fellow by the name of "koeiseun"

I back tested it and it just spun its wheels.

No substancial profits or losses

Just meandered about1 around 4000-usd to5000 usd

it has some good indicators bwith it.

may test them out soon.

Yep, that's pretty much the same way it behaves in a live trading environment as well. Just make sure you backtest it on the GBP/USD (works okay with EUR/USD as well) as that's the pair it was originally designed for.
