FAP isn't backtesting for me

I just bought FAP last night.

Problem:
When I run backtest, I get no results. At first it was telling me in the journal, "Kernel can't access DLL's." I read up and found out I had to go to tools/options and set it there that error went away. So I reran the backtest. Again no results. When I check the journal it says something like this: "If your ID =0 check EA/nMake sure your key is set/n.." the same text you normally get in the modal window, when the key isn't set yet. Although the key is set on the EA on the chart, and i no longer get that modal popup. Still no results.

How I installed:
I downloaded FAP, installed MT4, and dropped the FAP EA into the /expert folder. Loaded up MT4 and saw it there. Attached it to a chart. I see the smiling face. When requested for a key, i took the # provided, went to the login membership site of FAP - and got my final key. I installed the key on the EA preferences of the chart.

I have noticed that if I open MT4, in the tree view on the left, if I open Experts, then double click "Forex Autopilot" I see in this modal window a key value of "1234" - if I change it to the retail key and save, the save doesn't stick it always says "1234"

Anyway, I'm not sure what's wrong. I wrote support with no luck so far. Any help anyone has on installing this would be most appreciated.

Actually you have to insert the activation key in the properties of the EA in the BACKTEST as well. When you run a backtest click on "Expert Properties" and insert the activation key in the proper spot.

This should fix your problem.

Hmmm I'm having a backtest data download problem.

When ever I try and down load the data for GBP/USD it downloads fine until it gets to the very last green progress block then hangs with my hard disk churning away like it trying to resolve the wave-particle duality paradox! Even after I stop the download the drive keeps going. And even after I close down MT4 my computer resourses have been locked up meaning a full reboot.

Anyone else run into a similar problem? EUR/USD downloads just fine.

You have to input your FAP activation key in the properties of the expert advisor IN the strategy tester window. Just click on "Expert Properties" and set the right key.

huh...it always remains 1234?? odd...make sure the forexautopilot.ex4 is not set to read only or file locked or something odd like that. Try redownloading it from the members website and re-copying it to the experts folder.
