Stay away from Alpari.

Hi
Can someone tell me why I should not use Alpari?
Thankyou Diane

The Fap Turbo creator said that their spreads were a "joke." I am guessing that they advertise small spreads and jack them up on you when you least expect it.

Thanks liggy,
we have a friend who has been using alpari for quite a while (both demo and live accounts) and he says that alpari's spreads are very consistant. We have read the Fabturbo site regarding Alpari and cannot understand why they would say that.

I have had Fapturbo working quite successfully with a live Alpari account for a couple of weeks now, but since being told that the spreads with Alpari are 'a joke', I decided to look around. I came across ODL and liked the look of their spreads, all 4 pairs used have tighter advertised spreads than Alpari.
Great I thought, the demo account had far better results than my Alpari account so I switched funds over to ODL and opened a live account with them. First morning with the live account up and running and I see that the spreads on EUR/GBP and EUR/CHF are yo-yoing about all over the place from 1 pip out to 6, 7 or even 8. USD / CAD seems to be a constant five pips (Not 3 as advertised) and GBP/CHF is a constant 10 (not 6 as advertised). With spreads as wide as these, the original 'joke' alpari account offers a far better deal
Customer support gave me some guff about a lack of liquidity etc. Anyone got a LIVE account with ODL working well with FAPturbo and do the spreads generally tighten down to something like advertised in the evening when Fapturbo works its magic ?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Moley

Well, if it is a joke, they'll be the only ones laughing.

I find the FAP Turbo Scalper does quite well on FxPro. Really badly on IBFX.
FAP Turbo long range and the regular FAP do okay on either account as long as you stick to the no stop-loss, very low (1-3)LRR.
If you don't they'll chew up your profits in no time at all.

I don't know about Alpari but I do know that thanks to their spreads, FapTurbo has NOT worked well for me with an IBFX live account...they have great/friendly support staff in many ways but they are of no help trying to figure out why any particular EA's are not working. As can perhaps be expected, their standard answer is always "Go discuss it with the developer of the EA". By comparison, FapTurbo seemed to work at first with an MIG demo account but no longer seems to do so. Further, MIG have so far never been good in the customer service area and I still have not received answers to requests for assistance re. specific orders that appeared on their platform.

I have read that ODL is NOT FapTurbo friendly anymore over and over again. You can find this all over the fapturbo.com forum and in their Chat meeting notes.
I personally having been using Alpari and they have been working great! The spread changes from day to night but are still under at the FT recommend spreads. They have been very consistent at this after the US markets close it goes up to 5 on the EUR/GBP and has been staying at 3 for the EUR/CHF and 2 on the EUR/USD.
I Just found this on there website about margin requirements. So if you sign up with them be real careful not to over leverage near their cut off or they will close your trade at a loss!! http://www.alpari-us.com/en/company-news/234.html I think its normal operating procedure for most brokers to cover the ass. But doesn't make me feel any better.
Here is a copy of some FT trading hours spreads from Alpari when I was watching them a bit ago they are still about the same. I also attached an Excel file of the spreads so you can read them. The don't post here very well. The spread were the same for the demo as the live server, I was doing a comparison to make sure. The pretty much switch and stay the same all night. I never see any missed trade errors like on some of my demos like FXPro for instance I see them quite often daily due to the spread being to high.

ODL officially confirmed not accepting FAPturbo clients. If you trade FAPturbo with ODL then becareful, they will close your account whenever they detected you used FAPturbo there.

Alpari has been very good to me using FAPS and I have nothing bad to say at all about FAPS trading with Alpari. They are however slow to open and close trades manually. I use IBFX as well and they are lightining speed to open and close trades.

I use Alpari UK as my main broker and have found no problems at all. I looked around at the market and their spreads seem competitive to me and they have been very reactive whenever I have sent them an email.
My only slight moan would be that when I sent a credit to my account it took a few hours to get put on there, but that could just as well have been my bank being slow. The reason I suspect it was them though was that when I sent an email to check if they had recieved it, the balance updated about two mins later and they replied to say it had already been credited.

I always view that as a good thing. The last thing i want is my account running away with a massive drawdown debt that I am not covering.

Yes having some form of a stop loss is a good thing.

After thinking about it again it makes total sense. You are risking exactly what in your account. It protects both you and them. It also will keep them running more efficiently and hopefully keep giving us the best spreads because they don't have to spend extra dollars and write off bad dept or pay agencies to try to recover negative accounts.
Thanks,

Dynamo what ea's are you trading on your MT4 stats account you have for your signature?
It looks like Fapturbo and some other one. I know FT doesn't trade the GBPUSD.
I am liking the large quantity of small trades and profits each day. The only thing I don't like are the trades that stay open for long time periods that create more exposure to the market. Looks like some of your floating trades have a large S/L (internal based on their current positions) I haven't felt comforable trading the EURUSD in FT yet.
Thanks for your help,
LM
