Is it my imagination or does FAP seem to be hedging better these past 2 days? Must just be the market because I havent downloaded any new version???

What's your period MA?

Since I set mine to 21 I have had few problems with margin.

i made 100 pips just last night with 21

Got no plans to change it.

FAP closed out my big floater last night (lost 100usd) right after I hit 5k. I am already close to 5.1k as of this morning.

I am very pleased with 21.

Its only when trading is light i have to be watchful.

Its only when trading is light i have to be watchful.it's not that 21 doesn't work as a MA...but it's too short and you are killing your profits in the long run..

things do work...but you have to see what you are giving up for it to work:D

at the end of the day MA75 or 100 are goign to give you WAY better profits

backtest it and see for yourself

if you run from the 2008/01/01 with an MA21 your crap out

hmm i'm currently using 34 for period ma.. what do you think? should i change it to 75 ?

I Opened 2 eur/usd charts last night ( Diffrent magic numbers )after eagle asked about the MA Settings
I setup 1 chart all default settings except LRR 3 and 2 trades Take profit 20
The second chart I setup aaa 20 bbb 8 LRR 3 2 Trades MA 21 Take profit 10
( So I could determine which chart was trading )
Chart 1 made 6 succesful trades
Chart 2 made 3 succesful trades

How does that make sense?:eek:

LRR: 4%
Trades: 1
Stop: 10
AAA: 20
BBB: 8
TP: 20

Starting with an MA of 10 and increasing by 1 each time up to 100.
As of now 8 passes have completed highest profit is PeriodMA=16 (1187.67 Profit), Lowest is PeriodMA 17 (-95.46)

the aaa bbb settings 20.8 are a little more finicky during consolidation.

Can you post the entire optimization results you get on those settings. I and many others I am sure would be interested in seeing all of them.

For sure mate, will do. Im about to head off to work but it has completed 13 passes. Eagles 21 came up with 1000.20 Profit, 75.22% drawdown (mind you this is with 1 large trade, not 5 small ones like he uses).
Current top scorer is PeriodMA= 22 $1229.38 Profit, 71.77% DD

Just VNC'd back to my PC to check out the testing. 26 Completed passes, 65 to go!
New top score is PeriodMA=34 with $2834.77 Profit and 73.98% Drawdown

It IS testing through the massive spike we had 2 weeks ago remember....

61 / 91 Passes complete.
Earls 34 is still the most profitable by FAR. As soon as this is done I think I will run another one but using 2 Trades with 2 LRR and Stop of 20... Only another 3 hours and 27 minutes left on this run! woooooo

Hard to believe that 34 is that much differnet than 21.

I have the indicators on my chart for some time and I just do not notice any major differnece but I may just switch to 34 after this

Fapturbo's fast MA is 30 so long term results probably skew it down.

30 may be the magic number I'm thinking for long term.

PeriodMA= 75, Only made 288.66 with 70.54% drawdown...
71/91 Done so far, it is now up to Period 80, with a profit of 431.60... It will be interesting to see what 100 will bring it certainly seems to bring up alot better profits at the lower end of the MA.
