Hi

Has anybody used the NFP EA that comes with Autopilot. If so did you have to modify any settings other than as described in ebook? How do you test in strategy tester?

Any success with it?

thanks in advance :)

I have used it with good success on NFP. I have tried it on other market moving news but did not get any results or was stopped out.

You can't use this in a strategy tester because it is a time specific EA. You have to load the start time and the length of time you let it run so the strategy tester won't work.

I suppose you could take a small time frame around a past NFP and try it. but I think It wuyld be easier and better to forward test it. Of course I think forward testing is better for any EA.

I havent messed with any settings because i really havent had a chance to go over them and look at how it could be modified for less market moving news.

It did net me 109 pips last NFP and I'm looking forward to next month. May tighten the buy stop and sell stop.

Eagle – thanks for the response. Excellent that you got 109 pips. :)
What I don’t understand is how to change the time on NFP. When you go into the settings, the only fields that are time related are the ones shown in jpg. Or is the time related to how long after you turn NFP EA on?
What I find confusing about the instructions is that it says that you should manually open two or more trades either way, but it also says that it will open trades at the allocated time and then close them out at the stops. Can you help?

thanks

thanksThe time out hours and minutes are the time the news event begins. You have to figure out what hat time is on the mt4 platform. For example I have to add seven hours to my local time to find the platform time on the mt4 chart. ((8:30 EST + 7 hours = 15:30 platform time)

The run time is how long the NFP pilot stays running. For NFP I keep it at default but for other news events I have considered rasing it. But I really havent had much time to experiment.

I have not had to open manual trades. At the allocated time NFP opens a buy stop and a sell stop 20 pips above and below the market price. Those stops have trailing stops that follow the profit once the stop is triggered. I have read that it may open up to five of these trades however I only saw one open trade on last months NFP. I closed the trade manually at 109 because i did not see it going anywhere after that.
