The biggest problem with FAPS is the drawdown...and eventually the crash and burn of your account.

1 order can kill your whole account...

I've lived that many times..

waiting for 1 trade to come in for days

pyramid style is the answer

most times FAPS trades and the market goes against you
and you end up in dd... you sit and watch while perfectly good trades pass you by and faps does nothing....

a lot of people out there like 1 trade at a time...no good

multiple trades is the answer!

mutliple trades is the answer ... just need to get timing right between trades ...
I have tried setting it up on 2 charts, one Long Only the other Short Only ...
results are ok with your 20/8 settings ... however market not FAP friendly recently ... not really set and forget ...

to change they way FAPS takes orders...all you have to do is change the tp..

a large tp ie 250 to 1000 will help to reduce double top and double bottom trades...

when you change to a large tp you have to also change the aaa bbb

20 and 8 is not going to cut it...the market is not running in any real direction

I won't be running FAP on live account till mid january ...
had settings aaa: 20 bbb: 8 .. stop time 20 ... open trades 5 .... had 100% win until late october ... ran for about 4 months prior.

back tested settings recently aaa: 30 bbb: 20 .... stop time 1 .... open trades 10 ... from 7/1/09 - 11/1/09 ... double account ... same testing did not perform that well for period 1/1/09 - 3/31/09 ... break even

come second week of january will start on mini account with 30/20 and 20/8 settings along with info. received from supercharged.

FAPS always seems to kill it in October....

yeah aaa20 bbb8 don't work as well in 09 as it did in 08...

30 20 doesn't sound bad ...break even is better than lose..

we are all waiting for supercharged....

currently running something off the wall... to crazy to post...but I will post results today when I get them from FXDD..


they are not overly impressive but at least it's making a little money

I notice FAPS making lots of buys, however could be making money more with sells ... have anyone tried using the moving average feature

Hey haven't been in here in a while.
Been trading with aaa much higher than the 20 that is so popular here. Will try and post the setting when I get on my other computer that has my FAPS settings. If I don't come back in a while then forgive me. New infant in the house and renos are taking precedence over my favourite forums these days.

I spent countless hours playing on demo accounts with this since I've been home on mat leave. I'm now waiting until January to start trading again both with FAPS and by myself.

Hi guys. Good to see you're all back! I too have been thinking of giving FAPS another shot. Maybe after the holidays I'll get enough time to experiment a bit and see how I'm going to tackle this.
