the main change is the sl set at 0 and the FapTurbo_ClsLsrOnMrktChnge=1 which apparently identifies trend changes and works as a sl of sorts....

I took these settings from the fapturbo forum, submitted under "tweaking the long term strategy" by "interestedpeople"

Sorry I can't post the link as I am having problems submitting this over vps. His settings and reasoning are on page 4 of the thread.

It seems to work well anyway. I will test for another week or so.

I would appreciate some views and feedback on this strategy.

Please use with caution and PLEASE keep your LRR very low (1-3 only). Seriously.

Anything that is not mentioned here is left at DEFAULT

LRR 1 (keep it low so you have the margin to ride out any drawdowns)
Max Orders: 10
StopTime: 60

TP 50
SL 0 (yes, this is crazy, BUT there is a setting below that will act as a sl)
TS 15

ClosexMotnhs: 0

CriticalDays: 45 (this tested much better ON than off, even though there will be days with no trading, it is for your own good!)

ClsMrktChange: 1 (this function closes out any losing trades when the market trend changes. This acts as your stop/loss. Your trades will all go in the direction of the OVERALL trend, which is good. When that trend changes, your losing trades will be closed out automatically. I wish there was a way to get a warning when this was about to happen, but I noticed there was much more drawdown right before it did in the testing.)

I tested a few other optional functions, but found they were best left at defaults, so they are not mentioned at all here.

Although trading fridays and nfp is not good so i will change this to 0

having said that i have 3 trades going towards tp as we speak!! mind you there is a US gdp statement due in 7 mins!!

2 trades closed at tp and I closed the other manually for 10gbp = edit I got a bit jumpy on this one as the news release was imminent- I needn't of worried as it would have gone into tp

I have found that trading the london session is the most successful, no other reason

I agree, there is a lot of roller coaster riding during that session.

further to my first post I am going for some prudence as well

I have changed the following settings

FapTurbo_TradeNFP=0
FapTurbo_TradeFriday=0
FapTurbo_Prudent=1

You may not get as many trades but at least you will avoid the risky days.

Also I will keep an eye on the economic news calendar as well using THV3 FFCal indicator.

So hopefully all angles covered!!!! Famous last words

it has been recommended to change the spangator to 5 from the default of .5

Now I don't really understand the concept of spangator and why would there be a change from the default.

Thanks Chrisandrews12 for that FAPT help on the long term EURUSD M1 - I never got it to be profitable so have given up on it - too many erratic and big losses versus the scalper 4 pairs.

I will try your settings on demo and get back here with results....thanks again ( others I am sure are thanking you also for the settings tips).
