Default Major problem with FxPro

FxPro appear to be down at the moment. I have one trade open, the EURGBP.

I can't log onto their web site www.fxpro.com or www.myfxpro.com, or the web site of their parent company www.euroorient.eu

I have also tried calling them on +357 25 969 222 but can't get through.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Regards,
Niall

We would like to inform you that there was a temporary disconnection of services experienced by a number of our clients on Wednesday 21/01/2009 between 03:45hrs and 08:30hrs due to external circumstances beyond our control.
Connection problems are extremely rare to a high profile company such as FxPro as we always do everything humanly possible to foresee any possible circumstances such as today that are outside of our immediate control.
I am happy to inform you that not only is the problem now rectified and normal trading has resumed, we are also initiating an investigation into the failure so that we can minimise the risk of situations like this happening again in the future.
With that in mind, any clients who had pending orders set to execute at a price which was missed during the disconnect should email our dealing desk at dealing@fxpro.com immediately with their ticket/deal number so that we may investigate the trade and make any necessary corrections that may be required.
If you require any further advice on this matter please feel free to contact me directly via email on Vincent.Lee@FxPro.com or by telephone on +357 25 969 225.
Kindest regards,
Vincent Lee

PS. their website is back to service.

Thanks Anton,

I received a similar e-mail. I'll be asking them to refund the money I lost, less the spread.

Looking at the charts, it would have come back to just about break even (for me), on two occasions. Had I been able to access it at the time I would have closed the trade - especially after the $160 loss the day before. The trade was open before they had their problems, so I think it only fair to let them keep their spread. Being new to Forex, I don't know what the usual rules are when this kind of thing happens.

I spoke with Vincent Lee and sent an email to the dealing desk. We'll see where this goes.

I haven't received any word about the disconnection error yet, but I though I'd share my experience with trying to withdraw my money.

Using the same card the whole time, I originally deposited $500. A few weeks later I deposited $300. When I attempted to withdraw my entire balance, it was declined because I "can only withdraw the same amount of my last deposit at a time". So it looks like I'll have to make several $300 withdrawals. How stupid.

Just a heads up for those of you leaving FXPro.

I confirm that paypal is the best method to withdraw from FXPro. There's no limit to withdraw to paypal.
And yes, withdrawal to credit card is limited to the amount deposited. If you deposited, say, $500 then $300, you will be required to make TWO withdrawals, $500 and $300, and not one. This FXPro limitation was reported several times on forexpeacearmy forum...

So what do you do if you made your initial deposit with credit card, but your account is now more than you deposited?
