Do any of you ever manually close a
fapturbo order?? Why do I ask??
Take these two trades from last night as an example.
2009.04.07 01:25 buy 1.98 eurchf 1.52294 1.50610 1.52880 2009.04.07 01:56 1.51757 0.00 0.00 0.00 -637.15
2009.04.07 01:26 buy 2.49 eurgbp 0.90877 0.89320 0.91320 2009.04.07 01:38 0.90852 0.00 0.00 0.00 -62.25
I happened to be working late on my computer and spent a few minutes watching these two orders fluctuate up and down.
At one point, the second order reached +£311 or so before diving to its final close-out position.
Soon after the second trade closed out, the first trade had moved from -£60 or so to zero - break even.
Several questions come to mind:
- Why didn't the EA close the deal at £311 (approx 3% of total fund)?
- Why did it close quickly (which it did) once the value went negative?
And more importantly for me:
- Would any of you manually closed the second trade at +£311?
- With the "writing on the wall" (both buys against the Euro) would any of you closed the first trade at break even?
- Would/will manually closing trades affect the overall performance/effectiveness of fapturbo?
A lot of questions I know, but had I manually intervened in the trades it would have made a difference of over £900 to my account - dummy for now but I need to sort out a strategy if such a situation arises once I go live
