In an attempt to continue trading while my activation issue is sorted out (I considered it could take days), I purchased another copy of FAPT and installed it on my 2nd live account with Alpari. Everything went fine and I was able to activate it.

I then asked Alpari to transfer some funds into the account from my first live account and change the leverage from 1:200 to 1:500. After they did this, I shut MetaTrader down, because the leverage on the FAPT details read "200". When I re-opened MetaTrader I was greeted with our 'activation alert' friend again. So I'm back to square one.

Seems FAPT doesn't like accounts that change leverage. It must trigger some identifier that thinks it is a new account and generates a new Expert ID (cause I noticed it was a different Expert Id then what I used to load the EA just 45 mins earlier).

I have exactly the same problem - after changing the leverage it doesn't work anymore...

I hope they'll solve it really soon (sent them an email) cause I don't want to miss all the trades opportunities of the week!

Hi Miksa,

Your leverage determines the deposit required to secure a position, so the higher your leverage setting the lower the amount required to secure 1 lot. Therefore, your % of free margin will be the same for any leverage setting (depending on LRR), but the size of the position you are allowed to open (no of lots) is different.

That is my understanding anyway. That is how high leverage can kill you, because it allows you to open up HUGE positions with a small amount of margin, hence your $/pip is too high to allow adverse movements in the market before you get a margin call. You don't have to open the maximum position allowed of course (search for True Margin on google). Sometimes the lowest no of lots allowed is still too large for the account size though. Sorry if you already know this Miksa ;-)

I have been using fap turbo since December. I started with a $5000.00 DEMO account and my account has stayed under $4800.00 up until present.. What am i doing wrong
