Default Nervous about brokers

I've never done this before and I'm very panicky. I'm looking to open up a brokerage account with a reputable broker in Europe but I'm worried about sending a copy of my driver's license and a copy of a utility bill to anyone. I fear ID theft no matter how reputable they are. I fear for my family and everything. It's really for a successful managed account. Am I a big pvssy?

In fact I went to the post office with the application documents in hand ready to send. I was the next person in line and started getting so nervous I aborted.

How do you guys feel about all this? My brain is keeping me from opening an account since it thinks about ID theft and the end of the world, lol. Can anyone tell me why "it's okay to send, you have nothing to worry about" so I can send the darn thing?

Hey,

I am not sure I can proove to you that it is perfectly safe to provide the brokers with this info....BUT I did have the exact same concerns when opening my accounts. The way I got past it is I could not find a broker that did NOT require this info to open account. Thus, it must be a common requirement. That is what helped me.

These requirements are mandatory these days due to KYC (know your customer) policies.

I think the best way to proceed with this is to first look for a reputable and REGULATED forex broker in a reputable jurisdiction (cough....no Nigeria is not reputable). In a worst case scenario you may at least have legal recourse if the broker loses your private data or mishandles it in some way.

Or open account with brokers that only need you to send scanned documents instead of paper documents.

I had same feelings. I still have similar feelings when I buy somehting on Internet and am afraid to provide them with my credit card informaiton, but I just do my due diligence before and hope that everything would be fine.

Default Broker Concerns

I was wondering if anyone knew whether FXDD and ForexMeta are operated by the same Corp. They seem a lot alike. When i asked the question at FXDD i got hung-up on! I think that FXDDD also cheated me. The MetaForex platform went down when it came back up my trades had closed and i was out $200.00. They said the market moved away from me. is there a broker that will truly allow scalper robots to run freely without any interference? please tell me which ones. Thanks

it was mentioned somewhere that forexmeta is introducing broker for fxdd. so it is virtually the same platform. pfgbest, fxcm, and forex.com seem to have little downtime and no interference (a few times my stop was 1 pip away from high/low when price bounced back.)

ForexMeta is an IB (introducing broker) whitelabel of FXDD. Essentially they are just FXDD rebranded but with HIGHER spreads which goes to the operators of ForexMeta.

Hmm, as for brokers that allow scalping I think you're going to have to look into ECN MT4 brokers. Look into MB Trading, ATC Brokers, and umm..fxcbs..

I had the same concerns... someone here gave an advise to send a scanned copy, but i think this isn't the solution (for example, someone can hack you computer). So for myself the solution was just let it go...my idea is - if it's going to happen i can't stop it
